How is my franchise organized in BrokerBridge?

We’ve developed one standard structure to set up franchises, teams, and agents in BrokerBridge. Here’s how the hierarchy works:

Group > Network > Franchise > Team > Sub-Team (optional) > Agent

The group is always DLCG. Your network is DLC, MCC, or MA.

Franchise

In BrokerBridge, a franchise is a licensed mortgage brokerage, usually a corporation or partnership authorized by its provincial regulator to arrange, negotiate, trade in, or administer mortgages for compensation. The franchise itself isn’t the lender. It acts as an intermediary between borrowers and lenders. A franchise can be licensed in more than one province.

Team

Every franchise must have at least one team. A franchise with only a few agents can simply keep everyone under one team, but here are some of the most common scenarios.

If you’re a Lead Planner with MA Corporate, a sub-brokerage under one of MCC’s franchises, or a branch office under one of DLC’s franchises, BrokerBridge sets you up as a team. As long as you use a larger franchise’s firm code, you’ll be a team in BrokerBridge.

Sub-Team

BrokerBridge also offers an optional layer called sub-teams. You can create sub-teams when a team naturally splits into smaller working groups, often by physical location, specialty, or reporting line. Sub-teams also work well when a team leader has lieutenants who manage their own part of the team.

Agent

Agents sit within a team or sub-team, at the base of the hierarchy.
